Former Tottenham defender Serge Aurier is set to become Nottingham Forest’s 19th summer signing after he took a medical in the midlands ahead of a free transfer to Steve Cook’s side.
Newly promoted Forest have made a splash in the transfer market, with only Chelsea and Manchester United spending more than the Reds in the transfer market thus far, and they have added 17 permanent signings as well as Dean Henderson on loan.
Morgan Gibbs-White’s £45m move is the standout move, while Jesse Lingard and Cheikhou Kouyate have joined on free transfers. Taiyo Awoniyi, Omar Richards, Olem Mangala and Moussa Niakhate have all arrived from the Bundesliga, while Harry Toffolo, Henry O’Brien, Wayne Hennessey and Emmanuel Dennis have all joined the club from the Championship.
Brandon Aguilera, Carl Jenkinson, Remo Frueler, Gianluca Biancone, Neco Williams have all also arrived in a bid to keep Nottingham Forest from slipping back out of the Premier League just 12 months after arrival.

Now, they are closing in on another addition, with former Tottenham and Villareal defender Serge Aurier on the verge of signing a one year deal with the club, with the option for a further year.
Aurier has been a free agent since departing Villareal at the start of the summer, and enjoyed a mixed 4 year stint in north London, making 110 appearances for the Lilywhites before he was replaced by Matt Doherty.
More to come
Incredibly, Forest are showing no signs of slowing down in the transfer window, with a pair of Tottenham players on their radar.
Steve Cooper’s side are exploring a potential move for Sergio Reguilon, who is out of favour with Antonio Conte and was left out of their pre-season tour. They are also keen on a deal for Japhet Tanganga, though they face competition from AC Milan for the defender.
