FC Barcelona dealt injury blow ahead of Eintracht Frankfurt

FC Barcelona have been dealt a blow on the personnel front ahead of their next outing.

Barcelona face off with German powerhouse Eintracht Frankfurt in the first of two Europa League quarter-final matches on Thursday.

The first leg takes place at the Deutsche Bank Park at 8 pm, whilst the reverse fixture plays out at the Camp Nou in just over a week.

Ahead of the first meeting between the pair, Barcelona released their travelling squad on Wednesday:

There was one noticeable absentee in the form of Memphis Depay, who Barca report is out with a hamstring strain:

And whilst the Dutchman is not currently a regular starter for Barca, he has still scored two in his last four league outings so his presence will be a miss.

Barcelona, though, remain favourites for this game. Xavi Hernandez’s side have clicked into gear of the last few months and have now climbed up to 2nd in La Liga whilst picking up some huge wins over the likes of Sevilla and Real Madrid.

The Catalonian powerhouse can now also call upon players such as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ferran Torres to provide the goals in Depay’s absence.

As for Eintracht Frankfurt, they are struggling in the Bundesliga, currently sitting 9th with just two wins from five.
