Manchester United headed into the game looking to build on their new-found form following an impressive win over Liverpool on Monday.
Despite signing Casemiro earlier in the week, Erik ten Hag stuck with the same eleven that started vs Liverpool in gameweek three.

However, as the tie wore on, Southampton grew into the match and began to cause United some issues.
And, barring the above chances, Manchester United were struggling to really penetrate Southampton’s backline.
Following what was a fairly average first-half, some Manchester United fans moved to single out one player for criticism on Saturday.
