Everton midfielder in line for major pay rise as part of new contract

Premier League outfit Everton are ready to hand a new contract to an absolutely integral member of the club’s midfield ranks, according to reports.

The Toffees star in line for fresh terms at the club? Alex Iwobi.

Former Arsenal man Iwobi has of course continued to prove his many doubters wrong over the course of the season to date.

Since being moved into a more central role in the middle of the park by Frank Lampard, Iwobi has looked completely rejuvenated, finally resembling a player worthy of the hefty sum forked out for his signature back in the summer of 2019.

In turn, as alluded to above, it should come as little surprise to hear of such efforts looking set to see the Nigerian international imminently rewarded by those in a position of power at Goodison Park.

As per a report from The Sun, Iwobi will soon be offered a new deal through the summer of 2026.

This comes ahead of the expiration of his current terms on Merseyside in just 18 months’ time.

Significantly, the proposal is expected to feature a significant pay rise, too, taking Iwobi’s wage packet from around £70,000-per-week at present, to a hefty £100,000 moving forward.

Few issues are expected to be encountered in negotiations between the two parties.
