Not off to a good start
Ousmane Dembele’s start to life in Barcelona is off to a rocky start after Ernesto Valverde grew frustrated with the lack of fitness the player has.
The Frenchman is set to play his first game in La Liga this weekend against Espanyol but that might not be possible due to the lack of fitness.
Dembele went on strike at Borussia Dortmund to push through a move to the Camp Nou and that has resulted in bad fitness upon his signing.
With that in mind, it could well be that the player is unable to start playing for Barcelona over the next few weeks while he works on getting match fit.
With hardly any pre-season preparation done during the Barcelona-Dortmund saga, not even any training it could still be a decent while.
Though the player may be given the chance to prove his fitness during the Espanyol game but it remains to be seen if it will be from the start or off the bench.
Dembele signed for Barcelona following Neymar Jr’s move to Paris Saint Germain and there is a huge expectation that the Frenchman has to stand up and show what he can do.
Time will tell whether he will be able to do this or not, but he must get back to full fitness first.

Iniesta set to stay
While the news on Ousmane Dembele is not positive news, there is some currently filtering out of the Camp Nou.
And that is that Andres Iniesta is set to stay at Barcelona after the player’s father made it quite clear what he wants to do.
