Manchester United and Liverpool are set to face off at 8 pm on Monday evening.
Both teams head into the game still searching for their first wins of the Premier League season.
Liverpool have looked far from their best early in the campaign, being held to draws by Fulham and Crystal Palace.
Manchester United, meanwhile, have looked dismal to say the least, losing to both Brighton and Brentford whilst conceding six goals in the process.
Ahead of the game, Erik ten Hag has been speaking about all of the issues his side currently have.
And after just two games of the Premier League season, Ten Hag has pointed to Anthony Martial’s injury, Cristiano Ronaldo not being fit, a no.6 not being available, Lisandro Martinez and Harry Maguire not playing together before and David de Gea not being on form as reasons why United have been so poor in 2022/23:
“Our 9 Martial injured, Ronny not fit, the 6 holding midfield position not there, the first game we had two centre-halves who have not played together + also the goalie was not the best period,” Ten Hag said.
Whilst these are all valid points, Manchester United have since signed a defensive midfielder in Casemiro, Martial is on his way back from injury, Ronaldo should be getting fitter and the centre-back pairing will gel more as the season goes on.
