Erik ten Hag hits out at Manchester United forwards

The Manchester United manager was not happy with his forward line on Monday.

Manchester United clashed with Wolves in the first Monday night football of the season on August 14.

Manchester United headed into the match as heavy favourites, with Wolves tipped for a tough campaign.

However, Wolves were the better side for large periods and probably should have won.

In the end, Man United came away with a 1-0 win thanks to a Raphael Varane goal.

But Erik ten Hag was not happy with how his forwards played on Monday:

“I think we could have scored five or six turnovers and there were overloads,” Ten Hag said, “but I think the frontline was not in the best form today and we could have made more out of it from the overload situations.

“We have to move with the ball and be compact. Once we are compact, we have to be aggressive and fight in the duels. Today, we lost some fights and the counter-attacks you allow.

“But luckily we were defending the counter-attacks well and in Andre Onana we had some very good saves.”
