Erik ten hag confirms Man United pair are ‘looking for something else’ after Spurs defeat

Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag has, late on Saturday, confirmed that two members of his squad are seeking respective departures from the club.

This, of course, comes fresh off United’s first defeat of the new campaign.

After scraping past Wolverhampton Wanderers on opening day, the Red Devils, a short time ago, made the trip to north London, eyeing a 2nd win on the spin against Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur.

Safe to say, however, that such efforts, when all was said and done, came up well short.

A dismal all-round showing ultimately culminated in the evening’s visitors being condemned to the wrong side of a 2-0 result, owing to goals on the part of Pape Matar Sarr, and Lisandro Martinez (OG).

Speaking to the media on the back of the full-time whistle at the Tottenham Hotspur, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of the personnel options at his disposal was put to the aforementioned Erik ten Hag.

Rather than focus on potential incomings, though, Ten Hag made use of the opportunity to instead confirm that two members of his setup in Manchester were not considered for selection on Saturday owing to their desire to move on.

The players in question? Donny van de Beek, and Brandon Williams.

“We need players totally with their heads in our team,” the Dutchman began. “It’s obvious they are looking for something else.”
