Ahead of the clash, Howe discussed a number of topics in his press conference, including team news.
And it proved largely good news for Newcastle, as both Fabian Schar and Martin Dubravka could be fit to face Spurs: “Fabian SchΓ€r came back having not trained or played but we’ve had a couple of sessions with him so we think he’ll be fit.
βMartin DΓΊbravka trained with us yesterday for the first time so we hope he’ll be fine.”

Elsewhere, Howe provided a positive update on Kieran Trippier: “Kieran has a scan on his foot today to see how that’s healed. Hopefully the scan goes well and then we can push him quite quickly to get him back – so we’re hoping for good news.”

Tottenham vs Newcastle
With nine games of their season left, Newcastle United are basically safe from relegation at this point.
Howeβs side are currently 14th in the Premier League, a full nine points clear of Watford, who occupy 18th place.
And whilst Burnley, who are 19th, could close the gap on Newcastle to four points if they win their games in hand, Sean Dycheβs side have won just three league matches all term, so that scenario seems unlikely.
As a result, Newcastle have little left to play for this season, other than pride.
