David Moyes’ West Ham future hanging in balance ahead of Conference League final

A fresh insight into the future of West Ham United head coach David Moyes has been provided on Friday evening.

The season, to date, has of course seen the subject of Moyes’ position on the bench at the London stadium dominate the headlines in east London.

This comes with West Ham, after being tipped as contenders for a top-six finish, having found themselves for much of the term battling against relegation to The Championship.

In the end, the Irons did manage to stave off the drop in relatively comfortable fashion, but, in truth, it was Moyes’ efforts on the continent which saved his job.

The Londoners are currently putting the finishing touches on preparations for a major European night, when they will go toe-to-toe with Serie A outfit Fiorentina in the finale of the Europa Conference League.

Ahead of next Wednesday’s Eden Arena showpiece, however, Moyes’ position, it appears, remains in the balance.

‘In a sign of indecision at the club, it is understood confidence around Moyes staying has waned since the Premier League season ended. Sources have indicated the Scot’s future could depend on West Ham winning a first major trophy in 43 years.’

Potential replacements for Moyes, in turn, are already being discussed, albeit with it noted that ‘it would be impossible to make a change if West Ham beat Fiorentina in Prague’.
