David Moyes provides Kurt Zouma injury update

West Ham United manager David Moyes has provided an update on the wellbeing of Kurt Zouma, on the back of his side's meeting with Brentford.

Stopper Zouma, of course, set alarm bells ringing at West Ham earlier today, after limping out of the club's trip to the Brentford Community Stadium.

The Frenchman, upon initial glance, appeared to have picked up a hamstring issue, which ultimately left boss Moyes with little choice but to haul Zouma off, introducing Issa Diop in his place.

Speaking to the media on the back of the action coming to a close in west London on Sunday, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his star defender's wellbeing was put to the Hammers headmaster.

And Moyes went on to confirm that Zouma, in fact, 'twisted his ankle', albeit amid hopes that 'it's not too bad'.

Bees triumph

Zouma's fitness concern of course marked just the tip of the iceberg when it came to an altogether miserable afternoon for West Ham on Sunday.

This came as the Irons, no doubt keen to take advantage of slip-ups on the part of all of Arsenal, Manchester United and Wolves, were deservedly put to the sword by Thomas Frank's Brentford.

Goals on the part of Bryan Mbeumo and Ivan Toney proved the difference on the day, as West Ham saw any remaining hopes of a late push for Champions League football brought to what is likely to prove a definitive end.
