Crystal Palace boss Hodgson provides Wilfried Zaha injury update

Crystal Palace head coach Roy Hodgson has, late on Saturday, provided an update on the wellbeing of star attacker Wilfried Zaha.

For those not aware, wide-man Zaha set pulses racing across the Palace fanbase earlier today.

This came upon the Ivorian picking up an injury, during the club’s post-international break return to action.

En route to a last-gasp victory over Leicester City, Zaha, on the stroke of the interval, went to ground clutching his groin.

After being tended to by the hosts’ medical team, it was subsequently decided that the 30-year-old was in no condition to continue, limping from the Selhurst Park looking close to tears.

Speaking to the media post-match, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his talisman’s wellbeing was put to new Eagles boss Roy Hodgson.

‘I’m certainly concerned but I have no idea. Muscle strains can be long jobs. If we’re very lucky it might not be long. If I know one thing it’s that he is a quick healer, but we have to see firstly how bad it is.”
