'Complete waste of money' - Barcelona fans tear into one player after shock Cadiz defeat


 

Barcelona's supporters have taken to social media in their absolute droves on Monday evening, to take aim at one under-performing member of Xavi Hernandez's squad.

The Blaugrana were of course back in action a short time ago.

Fresh off the back of an embarrassing Europa League exit at the hands of Eintracht Frankfurt, Xavi and co. turned their attentions back towards matters in La Liga, desperate for a bounce-back result up against relegation-battling Cadiz.

When all was said and done, however, to say that such efforts came up short would be putting it lightly.

Another altogether sub-par showing ultimately culminated in Barca being put to the sword by a goal to nil.

The evening's telling moment was forthcoming early in the 2nd-half in Catalunya, when former Arsenal man Lucas Perez took advantage of some lax defending on the part of the hosts to slot home from close range:

Torres targeted

Barcelona, in turn, remain 2nd in the La Liga table, a full 15 points adrift of fierce rivals Real Madrid, but, more importantly, level with both Sevilla and Atletico Madrid below them.

On the back of the full-time whistle sounding at the Camp Nou on Monday, it should therefore come as little surprise to hear of the Blaugrana faithful being absolutely up in arms post-match.

The manner of their side's display has seen the likes of Eric Garcia, Clement Lenglet, Frenkie de Jong and Memphis Depay all singled out for heavy criticism in the game's aftermath.

As alluded to above, though, none have been quite as heavily targeted by Barca's enraged fanbase as attacker Ferran Torres.

The Spanish international, amid an underwhelming spell of recent form, toiled in his efforts to exert any sort of positive influence on proceedings on Monday.

And the backlash across social media, in turn, has since been a sight to behold...
