Clement Lenglet has missed the first day of Barcelona training as he looks to finalise a move to Tottenham, while the Lilywhites have also enquired about his teammate Memphis Depay.

The French defender is closing in on a loan move to north London, with a 6m euro option to buy thought to have been included in the deal, and the Frenchman is set to become Antonio Conte's fifth signing of the summer.

Spurs are in the market for a left-sided defender, and Lenglet is expected to come in as cover for both left-centre-back and central defence, with another defender seemingly set to follow before the end of the transfer window.

Beyond that, they are expected to target another defender, though the likes of Josko Gvardiol and Alessandro Bastoni seem off the table at present.

However, they have also been asking questions about another Blaugrana star.

Depay on the table

As per Spanish outlet Sport, Tottenham have also asked questions about Memphis Depay during negotiations for Lenglet, with the Dutchman thought to be free to leave this summer.

Depay arrived on a free transfer just 12 months ago, but in the time since Barcelona have added Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ferran Torres to their attack, while they also seem intent on signing both Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha this summer, leaving Depay's place in Xavi's plans, if he has one, unclear.

It is thought that Depay wants to move to a fellow Champions League club, having already rejected a move away to a non-Champions League side in the English top-flight this summer. However, should a bid of around 20m euros be tabled, it is likely to be accepted by the cash-strapped Catalan side.

Whether or not Tottenham firm up their interest in the Dutchman is another matter, but Spurs are clearly keen on further reinforcing their frontline this summer despite the addition of Richarlison.
