Christian Pulisic has been discussing Liverpool ahead of Chelsea’s meeting with the Reds in the 2022 League Cup final on Sunday.

The showpiece kicks off at 4:30 pm UK time, and will see two of the competition’s most successful sides facing off.

Liverpool have won the competition the joint-most times along with Manchester City, garnering an impressive eight titles.

Chelsea, meanwhile, have won the League Cup the joint second-most times along with Aston Villa and Manchester United (5).

In turn, now, ahead of facing Liverpool, Christian Pulisic has outlined what he believes are the Reds’ key strengths:

“They are a high-pressure team, they have a lot of physical, fast players, dangerous up front. All of the above – they have a lot of good players so it is always a tough team and a good coach.

“We’ve played in finals before. We’ve won and lost them but it’s about getting in the mindset and being ready to fight because in a final, that’s what they’re for. “It’s up for grabs, maybe not always the best football-playing team is going to win. “It is about grinding, fighting and winning that one-off game. That’s what we are going to do; hopefully we are going to get it done this time.”

Chelsea vs Liverpool

Should Chelsea win the Carabao Cup, it will secure Thomas Tuchel’s 4th trophy at the club in just over a year in charge.

Liverpool, meanwhile, are looking to pick up their 5th piece of silverware under Jurgen Klopp.

The German also reached the final with Liverpool back in 2016, but lost to Manchester City.
