Chelsea’s Reece James making plans for life after football

Reece James has already begun to plan for a life after football.

According to The Athletic, Chelsea defender Reece James has appointed a specialist marketing agency to help build a platform for his future after football.

London-based agency B-Engaged will educate and guide James on how he can use his platform and voice to make positive change, with a focus on influencing younger generations.

James, who has a combined five million followers across social media platforms Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, faces a race against time to be fit for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar having been ruled out for two months with a knee injury.

He announced on Friday that he will vlog his recovery from injury on his YouTube channel.

James picked up the injury vs AC Milan and has been sidelined since.

Given Kyle Walker is also out, the blow to England is even bigger, as Gareth Southgate currently has no right-sided centre-back options if he wishes to play a back-three.

The west Londoners have looked very poor going forward in their last two matches, with James’ creativity a huge miss.

Chelsea are now set to clash with RB Salzburg on Tuesday, a tie that will see them secure top spot in their Champions League group if they are able to win.
