Chelsea’s Reece James makes feelings on Ivan Toney’s World Cup snub clear after winner vs Man City

The defender has made use of a quote made famous by former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho


The latest social media activity on the part of Chelsea star Reece James has piqued widespread attentions on Saturday evening.

This comes after Brentford hitman Ivan Toney enjoyed an outing to remember earlier this afternoon.

Days on from - to the bemusement of many - being left out of England’s squad for the Qatar World Cup, Toney was afforded his latest start, as Brentford made the trip to the Etihad for a daunting Premier League showdown with champions Manchester City.

And, safe to say, the hitman sent a message with not only his ensuing exploits, but celebration, too.

After bagging his 2nd of the clash deep into injury time to guide the visitors to a shock three points, Toney looked directly into a pitch-side camera, before putting a finger in each ear, as showcased below:

And one individual, as alluded to above, who was quick to show his support for Brentford’s main man comes in the form of Reece James.

Stopper James is of course another set to miss out on a place in Qatar later this month, albeit owing to injury, rather than simply being overlooked.

He, though, is evidently of the opinion that Toney should have been amongst England’s final panel of stars bound for the World Cup, essentially calling out the decisions of Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate in responding:
