Chelsea’s games continue to be full of goals.

Although, on the opening day, they were all in their own net as they went down 4-0 at Old Trafford.

They recovered and drew 2-2 with Liverpool in the UEFA Super Cup just three days later but lost on penalties.

Then, in their first home match of the season, despite taking an early lead, Chelsea were held to a 1-1 draw by Leicester City.

So, last weekend, the travelled up to Norwich in search of their first win under Lampard.

They could not have dreamt of a better start as Tammy Abraham volley home with just three minutes on the clock.

But, just 156 seconds later, Norwich equalised as Chelsea’s defensive frailties were on show once again.

Timed at five minutes and 32 seconds, this is the earliest time taken for both teams to score in a Premier League fixture since November 2017.

This pattern was repeated again in the first half; Mount putting Chelsea in front only for the home side to equalise once more.

But, in the second half, Abraham fired the Blues in front for a third time and this time Norwich had no answer.

3-2 it finished at Carrow Road and a much needed win for the rookie manager.

That game was the first time two English players aged 21 or under have scored in a Premier League match for Chelsea since August 22nd 1992; that was back in their third game of the inaugural Premier League season.

Will this young team get the better of another newly promoted club?

Can Sheffield United get a result?

Chris Wilder

As for Sheffield United, they are one of ten teams on four points.

Their Premier League return got off to a dramatic start as, on the opening day, Billy Sharp scored an 88th minute equaliser away at Bournemouth.

Then, in their first match at Bramall Lane, John Lundstram scored the only goal of the game against Crystal Palace.

Last weekend, they hosted Leicester City but fell behind in the first half.

On the hour though, Oli McBurnie headed in an equaliser and the stadium erupted.

Their joy was short lived though as the Foxes won it just seven minutes later; 2-1 it finished.

Sheffield United have now failed to win any of their last seven competitive meetings with Leicester City.

They were given the chance to bounce back on Tuesday as they hosted Blackburn Rovers in the Carabao Cup second round.

First half goals from Richard Stearman and then Oliver Norwood were enough to see them to a 2-1 win.

Chris Wilder’s side have shown enough so far that they may well be alright this season.

Can they cause a huge shock and get a result at Stamford Bridge?

With an average age of 24 years and 208 days, Chelsea’s XI that started at Norwich was their youngest in the league since February 1994.

Frank Lampard will go with youth once again.

As always, Kepa Arrizabalaga will be in goal.

It’ll probably be the same back four as the one that has started every game so far.

That’s because Reece James and Antonio Rüdiger are yet to return to action.

In midfield, N’Golo Kanté missed the trip to Norwich and he remains a doubt this weekend..

If he isn’t available, Mateo Kovačić will continue to deputise.

Pedro got injured in the warm up at Carrow Road but should be able to come back in here, displacing Ross Barkley.

After his two goals last weekend, Tammy Abraham will continue to lead the line.

He became the third youngest player to score a Premier League brace for Chelsea last weekend but can he get on the scoresheet again this time?

Does this side have enough to see of Sheffield United?

As for the Blades, they have exclusively used British and Irish players in the league this season.

They will continue to play their open, expansive 3-5-2 formation, even away to the team who finished third last season.

Chris Wilder made nine change in the League Cup on Tuesday but it’ll be a more familiar line-up here.

On-loan Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson will be back between the sticks.

The back three in front of him is settled featuring John Egan and Jack O’Connell, also known as the overlapping centre-backs.

In midfield, Oliver Norwood has won promotion to the Premier League in each of the last three seasons but is finally getting his chance in the top flight.

Similarly, alongside him, John Lundstram’s goal against Palace means he’s now netted in all four divisions.

Luke Freeman will be the more attacking midfielder although, Ravel Morrison staked a claim for a place with a good performance on Tuesday.

The latter is expected to be on the bench in this one.

Up front, after scoring last weekend, Oli McBurnie could come into the team here.

Since the start of last season he’s scored eight headed goals; only two players in the EFL having scored more and one of those is teammate Billy Sharp.

Sharp will be a substitute though with Callum Robinson and David McGoldrick ahead of him in the pecking order.

Will it be a famous away day for Sheffield United?
