Chelsea star singled out for criticism amid poor display vs West Ham

Chelsea and West Ham are currently locked in Premier League action at Stamford Bridge.

The Hammers headed into the game looking to climb back into the top-six and, in turn, the Europa League spots, after 6th-placed Manchester United were beaten by Arsenal on Saturday afternoon.

Chelsea, meanwhile, sat 3rd in the Premier League, just two points above 4th but with two games in hand – one of which came against West Ham.

Both outfits headed into the match in pretty patchy form, with Chelsea’s last outing having seen them concede four to an Arsenal side who had previously struggled against the division's top teams this term.

Chalobah targeted

And, at the time of writing, the score remains level at 0-0 at Stamford Bridge, with neither outfit looking close to their best.

West Ham have rested a number of their heavy hitters due to their upcoming European commitments.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are without Reece James and have been playing like a team that have nothing left to fight for which, in the league at least, is largely the case.

Amid the poor showings from both sides, though, one player in particular has been singled out for criticism. That man is Trevoh Chalobah.

Chalobah may need to be called upon on a regular basis next term once Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen leave. But, after his poor first-half showing versus the Hammers, it seems clear that the Chelsea faithful would not be too keen on such a prospect:
