Chelsea are prepared to meet Juventus’ €35m asking price for defender Daniele Rugani, according to Calcionews24.com.
The Blues are hopeful of securing the Italian this summer in an attempt to attract former Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri to West London.
Having previously worked with Rugani at Empoli and attempting to sign him on numerous occasions during his time in Naples, Sarri’s admiration for the player is no secret.
Rugani to Chelsea
Chelsea are hopeful of wrapping up a deal for Rugani as they prepare for the arrival of Maurizio Sarri.
The central defender has a €35m asking price which the Premier League club are prepared to match.
Rugaini is keen to play more regular first-team football and having made just 26 competitive appearances for the Old Lady last season he is open to leaving the Serie A champions.
Juve have already begun their pursuit of a potential replacement with AFC Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt being targeted.
Chelsea supporters in favour
Rugani and Christensen in a back-4 next season, with Cahill and Rudiger. Not a bad defence. Could argue that Zouma could be in the mix too. #CFC

I’m all in for Rugani coming to the club if he replaces Cahill but atm we’ll have too many CB’s. Also, DEEP that we signed Kurt Zouma for £12 million. He should be given the chance to be coached by Sarri before getting rid. #cfc
