Chelsea’s next outing is another Premier League clash and will see them face off with Norwich on Thursday.
Ahead of the tie, Thomas Tuchel spoke to the media on Wednesday. When doing so, the German delivered some bad news on the injury front, confirming that Reece James has a muscle issue and will be out of the Norwich game:
“Everybody was on the training pitch today except for Ben Chilwell and Reece James, who has some muscular problems after his three games,” said Tuchel when discussing team news.
On James’ injury specifically, the Chelsea boss added: “He felt it during the match and it didn’t get better. Today there will be further examinations. It’s obvious what he can give to our team, so not good news at the moment.”
On a slightly positive note for Chelsea, it was confirmed that James’ current issue is not a flareup of the injury that kept him out for two months recently:
Muscular injury is to the other leg – not the one where he suffered a hamstring strain that kept him out for two months.

Norwich vs Chelsea
However, with 5th-place Manchester United six points adrift of the Londoners having played two more games, it is probably safe to assume Chelsea’s chances of finishing in the top-four this year are very high.
Norwich, on the other hand, are 20th in the league and have won just four games all season whilst also scoring the fewest goals in the division (16).
