Chelsea boss Lampard provides Mason Mount contract update

Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard has, on Thursday, provided a fresh insight into the contract situation of transfer-linked Mason Mount.

The subject of Mount’s future, of course, has taken its place front and centre in the headlines in west London across much of the season to date.

This comes as the powers that be at Stamford Bridge have continued working towards tying the English international down for the long-term.

After a contract renewal agreement was at one point viewed as a near formality between the two parties, negotiations have since dragged on in concerning fashion, culminating in suggestions that, should he not commit to fresh terms soon, Mount will likely be on the move in the summer.

Links to a number of direct Premier League rivals, in turn, have followed, with Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal all understood to be keeping a close eye on the situation of the 24-year-old.

With the opening of the transfer window inching ever closer, it should therefore come as little surprise to hear that, on Thursday, Frank Lampard was once more drawn on Mount’s future.
