Denis Zakaria joined Chelsea on loan from Juventus for the remainder of the 2022/23 campaign, with an option of a permanent transfer at the end of the season.
The fee required for a permanent deal is believed to be Β£30m.
Zakaria is yet to feature in a Chelsea shirt and has had already had to endure a change of manager as Thomas Tuchel was sacked and replaced by Graham Potter.
The Chelsea boss spoke on Dennis Zakariaβs lack of game time this season earlier this month add had this to say: βWeβve got a squad of 24 players and weβve used a lot. In that position there are good players so he has had to be patient.
βHe is fighting for his place and is ready to help the team. We canβt play everybody. Heβs doing nothing wrong but heβs not had the game time Iβm sure he would like. But heβs acting well in training.β
Now, ahead of facing Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday, Potter has suggested the Swiss midfielder could be in for a start:
βWeβre trying to take steps. Heβs in the frame for tomorrow. He is in the squad. He is available for selection so we will wait and see.β
