Thomas Tuchel held his pre-Crystal Palace press conference on Friday afternoon. When doing so, he provided an update on the fitness of Mason Mount.
Chelsea will take on Crystal Palace at 3 pm UK time this coming Saturday.
Ahead of the game, boss Tuchel would discuss a number of topics in his presser, including Mason Mount.
Mount picked up an injury in the Club World Cup final last weekend and was expected to be a doubt for the League Cup final between Chelsea and Liverpool on February 27th.
But, speaking on Friday, Tuchel confirmed that both he and the club intend to push to have Mount back for the showpiece clash: "We will push for the League Cup final. He has injured ligaments."
Crystal Palace vs Chelsea
Chelsea head into the Crystal Palace tie knowing that their hopes of securing the Premier League title this season are all but over.
The Blues do have a game in hand on current league leaders Manchester City. But even if they win that, Chelsea will still be 13 points behind Pep Guardiola's men with just 13 games of the season left to play.
Instead, the Pensioners need to focus on ensuring that they do not get drawn into the battle for 4th place.
Thomas Tuchel’s side are currently 3rd in the Premier League table. However, Arsenal will climb to within two points of Chelsea if the Gunners win their two games in hand.
Crystal Palace, meanwhile, are struggling for any sort of form, having failed to win any of their last five league matches.
Palace will also be without key man Conor Gallagher this weekend, as he is on loan from Chelsea.
