Chelsea and Manchester United set to go head-to-head for 20 year old Nigerian star

The two sides are ready to battle it out for his services

Chelsea and Manchester United are set to go head-to-head for Nigerian wonderkid Gift Orban this summer, according to reports across England.

Orban has enjoyed an impressive spell with Belgian side Gent this season, catching the eye of a wide range of Premier League clubs from Tottenham to Fulham. Still just 20-years-old, he has scored 9 times in 10 Jupiler Pro League appearances, as well as laying on two more goals for teammates.

He is firing them towards Europa League football next season too, with five goals in three play-off games helping his side top the play-off round as things stand, and looking in good stead to be back in Europe again come September.

His form included an incredible hat-trick against Cercle Brugge, grabbing three goals in their 4-0 win, which came in their most recent outing.

He only joined Gent in January from Norwegian side Stabaek, signing a contract to keep him in Belgium until 2027. However, as per the Manchester Evening News, his form has caught the eye of both the Red Devils and Chelsea, with both keen to add a striker to their ranks this summer.

Valued at 9m euros by transfermarkt, any fee would likely set clubs back far more than that given his age and the fact that he still has four years left on his current contract.

However, any price tag could well be paid many times over should Orban be able to translate his form into goals in the Premier League.
