The quarter-final & semi-final draw for the Champions League took place on Friday, March 17.

The balls were drawn at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland.

The draw was scheduled to begin at 11am UK time.

Only two Premier League sides remained heading into the last-eight of the competition.

Tottenham crashed out in the last-16 to a struggling AC Milan side. Liverpool, meanwhile, were up against much tougher opposition in European specialists, Real Madrid.

The Reds lost 5-2 over the two legs, with the first outing seeing Madrid come from 2-0 down to win 4-2.

Elsewhere, Manchester City eased past RB Leipzig after putting seven past them in the second leg earlier this week, whilst Chelsea edged out Borussia Dortmund to book their spot in the next round.

Both English sides will have been desperate to avoid Bayern Munich and Real Madrid in the quarter-finals, but when the draw was made on Friday, Chelsea drew Real Madrid in the last-eight. Manchester City, meanwhile, will take on Bayern Munich.

Should Chelsea make it past Madrid, they will have to face the winner of Manchester City and Bayern Munich.
