Casemiro bags Manchester United award

Manchester United star Casemiro has, on Friday, been rewarded for his stellar recent form.

This comes by way of a prestigious fan-voted prize, in the form of the Red Devils’ final Player of the Month award of the season.

The Brazilian, all told, featured from the off in all six of United’s fixtures across the month of May, seeing out the 90 minutes in all but one.

He chipped in with a pair of goals, too, en route to Man of the Match honours in back-to-back outings against Bournemouth and Chelsea.

Such efforts proved pivotal to Erik ten Hag’s troops securing an eventual top-4 berth in the Premier League, ahead of a return to the top tier of European football in 2023/24.

And as much, evidently, did not go at all unappreciated amongst fans of the Reds.

As per an official statement across the club’s website and social media platforms, Casemiro grabbed a leading 39% of the vote for United’s best performer in May, beating out 2nd-placed Aaron Wan-Bissaka (33%) and Bruno Fernandes in 3rd (28%).

Casemiro’s award marks his 2nd of a fine debut campaign at Old Trafford, after the former Real Madrid man was also crowned Player of the Month back in October.
