Sergio Busquets has been speaking about Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after he netted a hat-trick for FC Barcelona on Sunday.
Aubameyang would make the move to Barca in the January window, leaving Arsenal for nothing after falling out of favour under Mikel Arteta.
Aubameyang has since earned regular game time for La Blaugrana and has now netted his first goals for the club.
Barcelona beat Valencia 4-1 on Sunday and Auba scored three of their goals – even if one of them was just a deflection from a Pedri effort.
Following the game, Sergio Busquets would claim that having Aubameyang join their squad on a free transfer is a gift:
"He's working really well, he came here needing minutes but he is getting them now," Busquets explained to Movistar+ after the final whistle.
"I hope he helps us like this because he is a great player and having him in the squad on a free transfer is a gift."
Given Arsenal are pretty short-staffed up-front right now and are on course to lose another two strikers for nothing in the summer, the Gunners faithful are unlikely to be too happy to hear Busquets speaking so highly of the man they let go for nothing.
Xavi praise Aubameyang
Busquets was not the only person to praise Aubameyang after the Valencia game, with Xavi Hernandez having the below to say on the Gabon star:
“He has scored goals in his entire career,” said Xavi.
“It was to be expected that he would score here soon, too.
“He goes very well to space. He is mature. He is very intelligent. I am delighted with him. These two [subsequently changed to three] goals will go very well for him.”
