Bukayo Saka the first Arsenal star to reach milestone achievement under Mikel Arteta

The 21-year-old proved difference-maker once more on Sunday


A statistic aptly outlining the brilliance of Arsenal star Bukayo Saka since the instillation of Mikel Arteta on the club’s bench has come to the fore on Sunday evening.

The name of wide-man Saka, of course, has taken its place centre stage in the headlines once more across the day to date.

This comes after the England international proved match-winner in the Gunners’ Premier League showdown with Leeds United.

Arteta and co. made the trip to Elland Road in the knowledge that a victory would see them guaranteed of finishing Gameweek 10 with sole ownership of the summit in England’s top-flight.

Saka’s latest goal, leading his side to a crucial three points aside, also kept alive a stellar recent stretch of form on the part of the 21-year-old.

Arsenal’s gifted academy product has now found the net four times across his last three appearances in all competitions, making it nine direct goal contributions over the course of the season to date.

Not only that, but he has too now become the first Gunners star to reach an altogether noteworthy milestone when it comes to production in the final third.

As per statisticians Opta, Saka, today, became the only Arsenal player to reach the half-century mark for goal involvements (goals and assists) since the appointment of Mikel Arteta in north London back in 2019.
