Bruno Fernandes responds to claims he ‘asked to be substituted’ vs Liverpool

Manchester United lost 7-0 to Liverpool this past Sunday.

It was the worst display we have seen from Manchester United for some time now and was certainly unexpected given United’s form in recent months.

Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez all netted braces vs the Red Devils, with Roberto Firmino coming on to add the 7th goal 88 minutes in.

During the match, Gary Neville suggested that Bruno Fernandes was moaning that he was not being taken off.

Whilst commentating for Sky, Neville said: “Bruno Fernandes is stood in the centre circle with his arms raised saying ‘why is it me not coming off?’ Honestly, I have to say some of his behaviour in the second half has been a disgrace.”

He continued: “I’ve had enough of him throwing his arms about, not running about. That wasn’t a captain’s performance by him.” Neville wasn’t the only one disappointed with Fernandes, and reports claim his team-mates were also frustrated by his antics in the match, and believe he should be demoted from his role as captain.

However, Fernandes allegedly insisted that Neville got it wrong and explained to United’s staff that he was asking if he should play central or wide to accommodate Anthony Elanga.

Which club has Lionel Messi scored the most goals against?
