Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn has, on Sunday, provided his take on the speculation linking Chelsea star Kai Havertz with a move to the club.
For those not aware, the name of frontman Havertz has taken its place front and centre in the media headlines in Germany across the week to date.
This comes amid mounting claims that Bundesliga champions Bayern have set their sights on the signature of the 23-year-old.
Havertz was hotly tipped for a move to Bavaria prior to ultimately linking up with Chelsea in the summer of 2020.
Amid ongoing struggles in west London, though, it has been suggested that the Blues could soon look to cut their losses, opening the door for Bayern to reignite their pursuit.
Thomas Tuchel’s appointment at the Allianz Arena, meanwhile, has only served in adding to the chatter, with the former Chelsea boss known to be a keen admirer of the talents of his fellow countryman.
Speaking on Sunday, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of Havertz’s potential arrival was put to aforementioned Bayern CEO Oliver Kahn.
The one-time shot-stopper, however, was keen to play the topic down, adamant that discussions with Tuchel over summer business are yet to even take place.
