The woes facing Spanish heavyweights Barcelona have been compounded on Friday evening.
Barca, of course, have taken their place front and centre in the headlines across Europe over the course of the last 24 hours.
Unfortunately for all associated with the Catalan club, however, this has come for less than positive reasons.
After being sent packing from the Champions League in concerning fashion earlier in the campaign, Xavi Hernandez and co. followed up by tumbling at the first hurdle in the Europa League, too.
A 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford culminated in the Blaugrana emerging on the wrong side of a 4-3 aggregate scoreline, en route to a Last-32 exit from the competition.
In turn, though they remain in pole position to reclaim the club’s La Liga crown at the expense of Clasico rivals Real Madrid, questions have begun to mount when it comes to the ongoing rebuilding project at the Camp Nou.

On this occasion, a fresh personnel blow has been revealed, ahead of the club’s meeting with Almeria on Sunday evening.
As per an official statement across the Catalans’ social media platforms, Ansu Fati suffered a knee injury during a training session earlier this afternoon.
The Spanish international is therefore simply described as ‘out’, with ‘his recovery’ set to ‘determine his availability’.
