The U17 World Cup star
Barcelona are ready to part with big money to sign the star of the U17 World Cup.
Brazil attacker Lincoln is still a few months away from his 17th birthday but talks have already started between Barcelona and his representatives. The Flamengo forward is rated as one of his generation’s best prospects.
Recently featured in The Guardian’s list of 60 of the most promising talents in world football, Lincoln has been tipped for greatness for a long time. A ‘powerfully-built’ number 9, he’s scored three goals in three games.

His World Cup exploits come in the wake of helping Brazil win the U17 South American championship.
Combining with Real Madrid-bound Vinicius Jr to devastating effect, Lincoln scored five goals, two fewer than his strike partner. He is viewed as an equal to Vinicius in terms of quality and potential.
AS report that Barcelona have already sounded out the possibility of signing Lincoln. Flamengo have set a starting price of €30m. That’s unlikely to secure his signature as there will be many clubs in for him.
Barcelona are probably likely to pay more than the €45m Madrid paid for Vinicius in the summer.
Lincoln only signed his first professional contract at the end of last year.
Other Barcelona targets
The Blaugrana have made a brilliant start to the season but know that their squad needs further renovations.
Other targets include Philippe Coutinho of Liverpool. They chased the attacker all summer long before missing out on him and opting to sign Ousmane Dembele. They might be shopping in Dortmund again in the coming windows.
Negotiations for Dembele were far from smooth so it will be interesting to see how Barcelona plan to convince Borussia Dortmund to sell them Julian Weigl. While they’re in Germany, they may also raid Bayer Leverkusen.
