The latest word stemming from the Spanish media points towards altogether positive developments in Xavi Hernandez’s Barcelona squad ahead of their fast-approaching showdown with Real Madrid.

The last edition of El Clasico, of course, is primed to play out next weekend.

After seeing out upcoming meetings with both Celta Vigo and Inter Milan, Barca will make the trip to the Bernabeu, for a fixture which could well prove decisive when it comes to the La Liga title’s eventual landing spot.

In turn, it goes without saying that all associated with the Blaugrana will be hopeful of as many of the club’s key performers as possible being fit and ready to feature from the off.

Xavi’s squad has been ravaged by injuries of late, with the likes of Frenkie de Jong, Memphis Depay, Jules Kounde and Franck Kessie all forced into respective spells on the treatment table.

Late on Saturday, though, positive news regarding the wellbeing of the latter two of this quartet has been forthcoming.
