Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić has, on Saturday, provided a fresh insight into the plans of star striker Robert Lewandowski.

And the news has proven of an altogether concerning nature for the Bayern faithful.

Speaking to the media ahead of the German champions' Bundesliga meeting with VFL Wolfsburg this afternoon, Salihamidžić was inevitably asked for the latest on Lewandowski's future, amid persistent rumours pointing towards a potential summer exit from Bavaria.

And the Bosnian went on to confirm that, if the Pole has his way, then he will indeed be lining out in the colours of another club in 2022/23.

Bayern themselves, however, remain adamant that 'Lewy' will see out the remainder of his contract with the club, set to expire in a little over 12 months' time.

Back on the scoresheet

The latest word on Lewandowski's future, as alluded to above, came prior to Bayern returning to action once more, in the club's final outing of the campaign.

And their prolific frontman, almost inevitably, went on to mark the occasion with a goal - his 50th of the season - nodding home from Thomas Muller's cross to guide his side into a two-goal lead late in the first-half.

Could this prove to be Lewandowski's final goal in the colours of Bayern Munich?
