Liverpool are currently locked in Champions League action with Ajax at Anfield.

Liverpool kicked off on Tuesday looking to bounce back from their embarrassing 4-1 loss to Napoli last week.

Ajax, meanwhile, sat top of their group after beating Rangers 4-0 in matchweek 1 of the 2022/23 Champions League season.

And on Tuesday, Liverpool started well, pressing Ajax and stopping them from playing out from the back. The Reds opened the scoring after 17 minutes when Alisson played a ball up to Luis Diaz, who flicked it on to Diogo Jota. The Portuguese then slipped in Mohamed Salah who slotted home.

Liverpool’s lead did not last long, however, as Ajax made it 1-1 10 minutes later. It was Liverpool’s right-hand side that once again let them down. A simple ball in behind eventually lead to Mohammed Kudus having far too much space in the box before smashing it past Alisson.

Following that goal, Liverpool fans have once again taken aim at Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose positioning was very poor in the build-up to the goal.
