As Smith Rowe praised, Mikel Arteta reveals what has been ‘exceptional’ about Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli

One of Arsenal’s biggest strengths this season has been their attacking midfielders.

Alexandre Lacazette does not score an awful lot of goals, but what he does do is help get the pass out of the players behind him.

The likes of Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, Gabriel Martinelli and Martin Odegaard have had solid seasons to date, with Martinelli, in particular, showcasing his most consistent run of top form since his move from Brazil.

Now, prior to Arsenal’s clash with Leicester City on Sunday, Arteta has been praising the South American:

“He’s shown big signs of where he’s moving. His contribution all-round in his game has been exceptional,” Arteta said.

"He certainly has the capacity to score goals and be a threat. His contribution and all-round game has been exceptional.”

Rob Holding praise Emile Smith Rowe

Elsewhere, Rob Holding has been praising Emile Smith Rowe. The Englishman missed the Gunners’ last two league ties but looks set to return this weekend.

And now, Rob Holding has had this to say on his teammate ahead of a potential return to action:

“What a player,” said Holding on the latest FIFA vs Challenge for Sky Sports.

“The way he moves the ball is just so nice to watch. He’s so easy on the eye, he just floats!
