Three members of the first-team setup at Premier League giants Arsenal are continuing to train away from the rest of the squad during pre-season, it has been revealed.

Mikel Arteta's troops, of course, are currently in the process of stepping up preparations for the new campaign.

Having been pipped to the post by north London rivals Tottenham in the race for Champions League football last time out, the Gunners will be desperate to go one better this time round, buoyed by a host of fresh faces by means of the transfer market.

One such player to have taken his talents to the Emirates this summer comes in the form Fabio Vieira, something of a bolt from the blue arrival from Portuguese giants Porto.

And yet, to this point, Arsenal's supporters have not been afforded the opportunity to see the gifted midfielder in action in the club's colours.

This comes with Vieira continuing his efforts to secure a return to full fitness, on the back of a spell out of action with a foot injury.

It should therefore come as little surprise to hear of the 22-year-old, as recently as this weekend, training away from the rest of his new teammates.

As per football.london, granted access to Arsenal's pre-season training camp at the US Naval Academy, all of Vieira, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney were absent from the main group on Saturday morning.

And yet, it is suggested that the trio are nevertheless in contention to feature in at least some capacity later this evening, when the Gunners take on Premier League rivals Everton in their latest pre-season friendly outing.
