Premier League giants Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are both expressing a keen interest in the services of a key member of the defensive setup at Championship outfit Swansea City.
The player in the sights of the two North London clubs? Nathan Wood.
For those not familiar with his talents, Wood is a 20-year-old centre-half, currently honing his craft in England’s 2nd tier with the aforementioned Swansea.
The youngster actually only linked up with the Swans from Middlesbrough last summer, but his impact has since been as swift as it has telling.
All told, across Swansea’s 41 league outings to date, Wood has featured from the off in all but six, establishing himself as one of the first names on the team sheet at the Liberty Stadium.
With such fine form, though, comes inevitable outside interest.
And, as alluded to above, on Friday, the identities of two such clubs understood to have had their attentions piqued by the form of the talented stopper have been revealed.
As per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano:
‘Understand Arsenal and Tottenham are monitoring his performances closely.’
Swansea, for their part, have in turn moved swiftly to tie Wood down to a new contract, aware that the ball-playing England youth international could soon have his head turned by the prospect of a move to the top-flight.
