Arsenal are reportedly ready to continue their massive spending spree this summer by testing the waters for a potential move for Aurelian Tchouameni this summer, just 12 months after the Frenchman arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Gunners have already announced the signing of German attacker Kai Havertz from London rivals in a deal worth £65m, while they are also closing in on a £105m deal for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice and a £45m move for Ajax defender Jurrien Timber, a trio of transfers that will take their summer spending in excess of £200m just weeks into the transfer window.

They are not done, however, despite their indulgent spending thus far. As it stands, it is believed that another midfielder is on Mikel Arteta’s transfer wishlist amid the impending departure of Granit Xhaka and the potential departure of fellow experienced midfielder Thomas Partey.

Southampton’s Romeo Lavia has been one of the names mentioned, but now a new name has also entered the fray. As per FootballTransfers.com, Arsenal have ‘added Aurelian Tchouameni to their list of transfer targets’ as they look to bolster their midfield ranks.

A deal would be difficult though, with the Frenchman having only arrived in the Spanish capital 12 months ago for a massive fee from French side AS Monaco.

Though inconsistent last campaign thanks to form and injury, he is viewed as a long-term successor to the current ageing midfield and is part of the new-look trio that includes Jude Bellingham and Eduardo Camavinga.
