Two members of the first-team setup at Premier League giants Arsenal have taken to social media on Thursday, to send messages of well-wishes to now-former teammate Granit Xhaka.
For those who may have missed it, this comes after midfielder Xhaka’s Arsenal exit was finally confirmed.
With Declan Rice of course primed to make his way to The Emirates in short order, it had long been rumoured in the media that Xhaka had been identified as the odd man out in Mikel Arteta’s squad.
After Bayer Leverkusen tabled an offer of €25 million to bring the Swiss international back to The Bundesliga, it therefore came as little surprise when word was forthcoming this evening that he, in turn, had indeed been sold.
‘Granit Xhaka has joined Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen on a permanent transfer,’ Arsenal confirmed in an official statement.
Thank you, Granit ❤️

And, as alluded to above, swiftly following the announcement of Xhaka’s departure have come a host of tributes and farewell messages.
First up was captain Martin Odegaard, who accompanied a photo of he and his now ex-midfield partner alongside one another with the caption:
‘@granitxhaka thank you for everything. Learned so much from you. All the best bro’
