Former Arsenal star Paul Merson has, on Thursday, joined the chorus of praise for a headline member of the midfield setup at Liverpool.
The player in question? Dominik Szoboszlai.
For those not aware, the name of Hungarian international Szoboszlai has taken its place front and centre in the headlines on Merseyside once more over the course of the last 24 hours.
This comes after the summer arrival at Anfield provided the Liverpool faithful with yet another glimpse into his stellar talents.
With the Reds locked at a goal apiece in a Carabao Cup meeting with Leicester City, Szoboszlai conjured up a moment of magic to put Jurgen Klopp’s troops ahead, and on their way to the 4th round.
This marked just a single moment, though, of another wonderful individual display, amid a frankly brilliant start to life for the 22-year-old in England.
And, as alluded to above, in the midst of the latest wave of praise to have been showered on Szoboszlai since Wednesday night, front and centre has been Paul Merson.
Ex-midfielder Merson has already revealed his admiration for the Hungarian, in labelling him the signing of the summer in the Premier League.
And, on Thursday, he doubled down, hailing Szoboszlai an ‘absolutely outstanding’ talent, before questioning why Liverpool did not face more competition for his signature
“Dominik Szoboszlai has been absolutely outstanding, how has everybody else missed out on him?”
