Arsenal and Tottenham locked in 3-way battle for French U21 star

Arsenal and Tottenham have been no strangers to transfer battles in north London in recent months.

Both clubs were keen on Emerson Royal and Takehiro Tomiyasu, with the Gunners eventually getting what looks like the better deal of the two as they picked up Tomiyasu from Bologna on deadline day.

Meanwhile, Arsenal were too reported to be interested in Dejan Kulusevski, only for the Swede to end up turning out in Tottenham white come the end of the January transfer window.

And now, they could be set to go head-to-head once more, according to Bild, as the two clubs compete with Paris Saint-Germain for Eintracht Frankfurt starlet Evan Ndicka.

No price tag or even discussions are mentioned by the German outlet, who tend to be relatively reliable regarding transfer news in the Bundesliga. However, Ndicka would likely command a premium fee if PSG are in the race.

Who is Evan Ndicka?

Standing at 6 foot 3 inches tall, 22-year-old Ndicka is quite the imposing figure already, and he has been known to scouts for quite some time. The French U21 international made his club debut in Ligue 2 at the age of just 17 years old, but went on to make just 16 appearances for Auxerre before a move to Germany and Eintracht Frankfurt came calling.

A left-footed defender comfortable on the left-side of defence or, if push comes to shove, at left-back, Ndicka has gone on to make 121 appearances for the Bundesliga outfit, but will be out of contract in 2023, suggesting that he may be ready to move to pastures new.

He would certainly add some much-needed stability to the Tottenham defence, while a move to north London rivals Arsenal would surely see the Frenchman considered a back-up option to Gabriel, who has excelled for Mikel Arteta's side.

Either way, it promises to be a pivotal summer for Ndicka's future.
