Arsenal have advanced their negotiations for Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus according to reports in Brazil, amid claims of a deal worth a fee in the region of 50m euros for the Brazilian.
Jesus has been linked with a move away from Manchester, with his contract expiring in 2023, and confirmation of the arrival of Erling Haaland this summer has only intensified those rumours.
And, speaking to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Brazilian's agent revealed that a move to Arsenal is a possibility.
'We had talks with Arsenal about Gabriel Jesus, we like the project - it’s a possibility we’re discussing. There are 6 more clubs interested in Gabriel - he’s focused on final games with Man City, we’ll see', he claimed.
Move edging closer?
And now, as per a report coming out of Brazilian outlet UOL, the move is edging yet closer.
They claim that Jesus will sign a five-year deal at the Emirates Stadium this summer should negotiations continue in their current vein.
'The parties have evolved in the conversations and are closer in terms of transfer fee, salaries and agent commissions, in a contract that should have a duration of five years', it is reported.

It would certainly be a statement of intent from the Gunners, who can qualify for the Champions League with a win in the north London derby on Thursday night.
Should they return to the top European competition for the first time since 2017, it would certainly help Mikel Arteta's side land the likes of Jesus.
