Andreas Pereira hints at future away from Manchester United

Andreas Pereira hints at future away from Manchester United

The pre-season Pirlo strikes again

Manchester United’s Andreas Pereira shot to prominence in pre-season once again after netting a sublime strike against Brentford.

Although the game finished 2-2 against the Premier League newcomers, Manchester United fans were certainly appreciative of the goal.

Does his future lie elsewhere?

The creative midfielder spent last season on loan at Lazio, making 26 appearances for the Italian outfit, and netting a solitary goal in the process. Like fellow creative midfielder Jesse Lingard, however, he has returned to Old Trafford ahead of the new campaign.

Speaking exclusively to TNT Sports, Pereira spoke of the importance of playing regularly next season, saying:

“I’m ready to play, I’m not a boy anymore. I’m a man ready to take responsibility.

“In Manchester or elsewhere, the time has come to play, to have at least an hour per game on the field, to have the confidence to play. I want to be happy, to feel important.”

It seems incredibly unlikely that the Brazilian will get his demanded playtime, with both Lingard and the mercurial Bruno Fernandes both theoretically ahead of him in the pecking order. As a result, it is expected that Pereira, 25 years old, will have to depart the North West of England once more in search of first-team football.

As per StrettyNews, however, Manchester United are holding out for 20 million pounds for their attacker, and have already rejected another loan offer from Lazio. This could seriously jeopardise a move for the Brazilian international, with the price-tag seriously limiting the number of clubs that could make a serious offer for him.
