Aaron Ramsdale opens up on Arsenal’s title hopes

Aaron Ramsdale has been speaking about Arsenal being in the 2022/23 Premier League title race.

Arsenal began 2022/23 looking to finally return to the Champions League after missing out by just a few points last season.

However, after eight games of the campaign, Arsenal are seemingly aiming much higher.

The Gunners are top of the Premier League with 21 points, one point more than Manchester City, who smashed Manchester United on Sunday.

Of course, there is still a long way to go in the campaign, but with Liverpool seriously struggling for form and Chelsea finding their feet under a new boss, it does look as though the north Londoners will be Man City’s closest title challengers this term.

Aaron Ramsdale was asked about Arsenal’s title hopes post-Tottenham and had this to say:

“You lot are thinking about that, we are just going into every game with a big smile on our face trying to win the game,” said Ramsdale.

“When we win, we celebrate and if we don’t then we evaluate it and go again.

“We’re a young team and literally we are going into a game trying to enjoy ourselves and winning. Then we’ll see where that takes us.

“This month before the World Cup we have three different competitions, which we want to win in every single one of them, and then we will see where we are at the break because at the end of the day we want to win trophies.

“But we’re eight games in. Something always happens with the likes of Man City. A few years ago they were 14th at Christmas and went on some crazy run.

“We’re just loving the journey at the minute and long may that continue.”
