‘A bit serious’: Antonio Conte provides injury update on Tottenham’s Cristian Romero

‘A bit serious’: Antonio Conte provides injury update on Tottenham’s Cristian Romero

Mura vs Tottenham

Tottenham are back in European action on Thursday evening.

Spurs are set to face off Slovenian outfit Mura at the Ljudski Vrt Stadium in a 5:45 pm kick-off.

Tottenham head into the clash as clear, clear favourites. The north Londoners have not had the best of Europa Conference League runs so far and have already dropped points to both Vitesse and Rennes.

However, Spurs should have no problem seeing off Mura. The Slovenian side are dead bottom of Group G having won none, drawn none and lost four so far this term. Mura have also scored just two goals and conceded 10.

So, even if Antonio Conte does ring in the changes this time around, a weak Spurs side should have little problems dispatching Mura.

Antonio Conte on Cristian Romero

Ahead of the clash with Mura, Antonio Conte would speak to the press on Wednesday morning.

Conte discussed a number of topics in his press conference, including Cristian Romero.

The Argentine picked up an issue on international duty and missed Tottenham’s win over Leeds this past weekend.

And the defender looks set to miss out again on Thursday, with Conte having this to say on Romero pre-Mura:

“We are waiting for another scan. I think his injury is a bit serious and we have to wait. It’s an injury that is more serious that Lo Celso and Scarlett.”

Elsewhere, Conte also claimed that all available players will be making the trip to Mura:

“All the players available will come with us. They must be ready to play against Mura. I need to make rotation because there are players that are a bit tired because played many games with international team and other players need game time.”
