The Oklahoma City Thunder have traded All-Defensive guard Luguentz Dort to the Atlanta Hawks as part of a three-team deal that also sends former No. 1 overall pick Zaccharie Risacher to the Dallas Mavericks.
Oklahoma City will receive three future second-round picks in the deal, while Atlanta also acquires guard Ryan Nembhard.
The move continues a dramatic offseason for the Thunder, who have now collected seven second-round picks while reducing their salary commitments through the departures of Dort, Isaiah Joe and Aaron Wiggins.
Instead of declining Dort’s $17.7 million team option to create cap flexibility, Oklahoma City exercised it before completing the trade.
The move also creates a $17 million trade exception and allows the 27-year-old to pursue a long-term contract in Atlanta that was unlikely to be available with the reigning champions.
Dort spent all seven of his NBA seasons with the Thunder, establishing himself as one of the league’s premier perimeter defenders. He earned First Team All-Defensive honours in 2025 after averaging 8.3 points and 3.6 rebounds across 69 games last season.
Over his career in Oklahoma City, Dort averaged 11.6 points and 3.8 rebounds per game.
The Hawks strengthen their defensive core by pairing Dort with Dyson Daniels and Nickeil Alexander-Walker on the wings, while also maintaining more than $40 million in projected salary cap space for next summer.
Meanwhile, Dallas land former No. 1 overall pick Zaccharie Risacher. The 21-year-old averaged 9.6 points and 3.8 rebounds in 67 appearances last season, finishing second behind Stephon Castle in the 2024-25 Rookie of the Year voting.
Atlanta also receive Ryan Nembhard, who averaged 6.6 points, 5.3 assists and 2.2 rebounds in 60 games during his rookie campaign last season.
