Angels vs Yankees, Mets vs Dodgers, full MLB scores and standings as Aaron Judge calls win ‘wild’
The MLB standings after the Yankees edge out the Angels
New York Yankees fielder Aaron Judge called the Los Angeles Angels’ Mike Trout “the greatest” after the pair ensured two three-time MVPs each hit multiple home runs in the same game for the first time since 1956.
Trout looked to have won a classic with a two-run shot off Camilo Doval in the eighth for his fourth homer of the year, only for Trent Grisham to hit a game-tying two-run blast in the ninth off Jordan Romano as part of an 11-10 Yankees win.
“Every time he comes to the Bronx, he puts on a show,” Judge said of Trout. “I hate to see it, but it’s fun competing against a guy like that.
“He’s the greatest of all time – fun to watch… he’s led those boys over there for quite a few years and to see him day in, day out show up… he’s some tough injuries but [I’m pleased] to see him put himself back in a better spot this year.”

Angels vs Yankees: Why Judge ‘wants Grisham at plate’
The Yankees recovered from a run of five defeats, losing the last three in the sequence to the Tampa Bay Rays.
“It was a great, wild game,” Judge said of their victory on an unpredictable surface. “It was just back and forth, some big blows there, some big three-run homers out of some guys.
“Grish came up with a big three-run homer and Trouty was over there doing the same thing. It’s fun to be part of those games when you’re on the winning side.
“It ends our losing streak, that’s about it. We’ve got a big four-game series against these guys. [Grisham’s] just never wavered – it doesn’t matter if he’s come up with a big hit or started a rally.
“To come up with two big hits when we needed it speaks about what kind of guy he is. At any big moment when something like that’s going on, I want him at the plate.
“I was going to talk some smack after one [Trout] hit over the warning track, but I didn’t get a chance and he answered right back with two big homers.
“You put that guy in clutch situations, he shows up every single time… looking forward to some more battles over the next three days.”
