Al Akhdoud v Al Nassr: Line-ups, stats and preview

Al Akhdoud host Al-Nassr on Saturday in a Saudi Pro League clash with major implications at both ends of the table.

The hosts remain firmly in the relegation battle despite a recent managerial change. Now led by Fathi Al-Jabal, Al Akhdoud secured a 1-0 win over Al Fateh last time out, ending a run that had seen them lose six of their previous seven matches.

Al-Nassr, by contrast, arrive in exceptional form. Jorge Jesus’s side are chasing the title and have won 15 consecutive league matches, putting them top of the table ahead of Al Hilal and Al Ahli.

Their latest result, a 5-2 victory over Al Najma, highlighted their attacking quality, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane both finding the net twice.

Al-Nassr have also been dominant away from home, winning their last eight league matches on the road, and scoring freely throughout that run.

Al Akhdoud are expected to set up with a compact defensive structure, with Koray Gunter and Saeed Al-Rubaie likely to feature centrally in defence.

In attack, Saleh Al-Abbas could lead the line, supported by Christian Bassogog, Abdulaziz Al Hatila and Khaled Narey.

Al-Nassr will be without Raghed Najjar due to an ACL injury, while Inigo Martinez is sidelined with a hamstring issue.

Mohamed Simakan and Abdulelah Al Amri are expected to start in defence, while Kingsley Coman and Sami Al-Najei are doubts.

Cristiano Ronaldo is set to lead the line alongside Abdullah Al-Hamdan, with Sadio Mane operating in wide areas.
